Greetings and Happy New Year!

Yesterday we went to Grimsby to see the Barnacle goose. It took three tries but finally we saw it among a couple of dozen Canada Geese ranging along the shore. Also present were a Black Backed Gull (adult and juvenile)  Herring Gulls, an American Wigeon, Mallards, and Ring Bills and so on. There was also a Domestic Goose x Canada Goose named George (who was huge) and a Domestic Goose flying with the Canada Geese.

To get there: QEW to Christie Street, head to the lake along Christie (becomes Lakeview Ave.) and turn right on Lakeside Drive and go to the end, turn left and there is the bay for 40 Mile Creek and the Pump house. Park there and look for the birders! Takes about an hour from Toronto.

Cheers,

Bernie
