Hey John, it looks like the same spot I was at trying to get some Grackle shots.  I like them regardless of what so many say.

i grew up not liking grackles because i was told that they chased all the other birds away.
they don't have the nicest of chirps, but they do look nice when the sun hits their heads and turns the feathers purplygreen
