Rather quiet in the park today (and yesterday). Not many birds, but still two new species for the spring: White-crowned Sparrow and a Baltimore Oriole.
I'm not sure whether the low numbers are due to the fact that migration is on hold at the moment, or the fact that the park isn't attracting much migrants (it's my first year birding here). I keep hoping for a fall-out.
On the side, I have yet to see a Chickadee in this park!
Highlights from today's list:
3 Veery
1 Swainson's Thrush
2 Hermit Thrush
1 Yellow Warbler
2 Black-throated Blue Warbler
3 White-throated Sparrow
1 White-crowned Sparrow
1 Baltimore Oriole
Good locations: Dense foliage around the dog resting area ("the Bowl"), near John Gibson House and at the south-eastern end; and densely treed area south of the swim hall and west of the greenhouse (south-west corner of the park)
