canada warbler b-g gnatcatcher today @ Second Marsh

Again I arrived at dawn and again I was pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of birds.

Higlights:

-blue-gray gnatcatcher
-least and willow flycatchers
-wood duck (10)- all juveniles
-great egret
-black crowned night heron (13)
-green heron
-trumpeter swan (3)
-caspain and common terns
-cardinal
-red breasted nuthatch
-cooper's hawk
-warbling, red eyed vireo
-northern oriole
-belted kingfisher (3)
-swamp sparrow

-warbler species: tennessee, yellow (12), juvenile chestnut-sided, redstart, common yellowthroat, northern parula, canada, nashville


60 species in all...

I also spotted 3 bonaparte's gulls, a song sparrow feeding what I can only guess was a brown-headed cowbird (the 'chick' was 50% bigger, 2 greater yellowlegs and a juvenile sora...
