Okay, my firsts.
The grebes, obviously. (For those who where not present, there were the anomalously resident red-necked grebes and a pied grebe, and we all got a good look at them.)
There were 2 semi-palmated plovers and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen those before. (There was also a spotted sandpiper, which I have seen.)
I also saw the green heron and the sharp-shinned hawk. (I have been present when other people saw both of these species and managed to look the other way just when it counted. I really thought I was going to maintain my record when a fisherman flushed the green heron 2 people before my turn at the scope.)
