What a difference a little warmth makes? Everybody out and about...
Humber Arboretum was very busy - a flock of 25 - 30 Robins moving about the big willows, intermixed with Cedar Waxwings, and a Red-Winged Blackbird. A similarly sized flock of Red Polls also circling the area, feeding on the Alders- very noisy and lively. The usual suspects round by the bird-feeder (chickadees, juncos, finches, cardinals, nuthatches (heard but not seen) and doves).
No owls :-( but down by the river a Northern Shrike perched at the very top of an ash tree - my very first sighting of one of these, so a banner day!
