I birded the cemetery this evening and found a good number of migrants. I wasn't expecting to see very many so I am pretty happy with what I found. There was a good variety of sparrows.

Here's some highlights:

Cooper's Hawk     1
Northern Flicker     1
Brown Creeper     4
Golden-crowned Kinglet     15
Ruby-crowned Kinglet     1
Eastern Towhee     1
Chipping Sparrow     4
Field Sparrow     2
Song Sparrow     2
White-throated Sparrow     5
Dark-eyed Junco     15

This evening at the cemetery I was surprised to find 14 Hermit Thrushes. There was also 2 Winter Wrens and 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

I didn't see any Hermit Thrushes yesterday or today along Lake Ontario so I thought it was odd that I found so many further inland. It think it might be due to the strong and cold winds coming off the lake forcing them more inland. Although I didn't find many sparrows.

Hi,

The best area I've found is here:
43.692565,-79.390826

Just to the west of that area is a steep hill. If you go down that and find the trail along the river that is a good area as well.

Good luck!
