Nice! I hope he sticks around for you--they're such neat little birds! We had our first Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrive on May 12th as well. A female showed up and laid claim to the feeder that morning, and a male arrived in the late afternoon. She tolerated him feeding in the yard, but she's very territorial about the feeder, and wouldn't let him use it when she was near enough to notice. On the 13th, I watched them perch close to each other in our Birch tree. She did a little dance for him and splayed her tail feathers, and they mated before she ran him off for trying to use "her" feeder again. So, who knows, we may even have baby Hummingbirds this year. I've seen a few other females since, but the first female drives them off as soon as they try to use the feeder in the front of the house.
We have lots of Baltimore Orioles, but I've never seen an Orchard Oriole before, so it's cool to hear that you had one in your yard.
