We visited G. Ross Lord Dam and Reservoir this evening (Dufferin/Finch area). We were amazed to see how flooded the area was. Paths and even a small bridge were under water! Enter the park at the second set of lights, after Finch, on Dufferin. Drive to the last parking lot, which is near the riding stables. Take the path down to the water. The flowering apple trees and sumacs had lots of birds hanging around them. The highlight was 4 Scarlet Tanagers, 3 males and 1 female.  One of the males was an orange variant. In the same spot, we had 2 Eastern Kingbirds, Yellow Warblers, 1 Magnolia Warbler, 1 Swainson's Thrush, and 1 Baltimore Oriole. Walking through the wooded areas, we found another male Magnolia Warbler, 1 Gray Catbird, and 1 male Black-throated Blue Warbler. Take care on the muddy paths, because they are slippery.
