It won't be long before the hummingbirds head south so I wanted to capture a few before they do so. A simple set up with a birdfeeder on my front deck....standing 12 feet to the east, camera on tripod, let the morning sun shine on the feeder and wait!!! The background is a stand of cedar trees still in shadow. These guys are fast...anticipation really helps.
