All of a sudden the neighborhood is full of robins and I also had 3 housefinches at my feeder this afternoon. Nice to see some different birds for a change, even if they are fairly common.  Are people still seeing goldfinches; I haven't seen any here for several weeks... and I stepped out my front door earlier today and was 'mobbed' by a family of chickadees. Fortunately the seeds were handy and I was able to handfeed them before they did me harm! fun birds! :)

I am new to "Birding" and I love it. I had gold finches late summer, but they have gone away. Do you know if they will be around during winter in the GTA?

Welcome to the forum and to birding. The Goldfinches are still around, but they have moulted into their non-breeding plummage. They still have their black wings and white wing-bars, but their bodies are brownish. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. There was 4 at my feeder for a few weeks in Sept. One was yellow the other three had moulted. They have since gone away and I haven't seen any sign of any more.
