A very nice morning today. Started at Grays Road in Stoney Creek with superb looks at Surf and Black Scoters in perfect light. Haven't had any good looks of these before. There were also hundreds of Long-tailed Ducks Red-breasted Mergansers, Common Goldeneye, a Greater Scaup and my first Juncos of the season.

At Port Nelson parkette and Sioux Lookout in Burlington I completed the Scoters with 4 White-winged Scoters and saw 2 loons flying out over the lake, noticing their odd head movements up and down. I found out that this was characteristic of Red-throated Loons, a first for Ontario for me. There were also even more Long-tailed Duck, several thousands.
