I walked the "north trail" to the top extremities of the reservoir. I was hoping to find the "upper lookout tower" but never did. I reached the end of the trail where it meets the road. When I returned the folks at the reception desk told me the tower was torn down a month ago becase it was too old and falling apart - dangerous.

Anyway, a terrific little hike - about 3 hours return - not for the faint of heart - glad I took water and a snack.

4 new FOL birds for me -

Tree Swallows - to many and too fast to count - maybe 50 or so
Lesser Yellowlegs - 4 ( 2x2 in 2 locations)
Northern Shoveler - 1male, 1 female
male Yellow-rumped Warbler x1 (see the Bird ID section)

Also saw
Chickadees
Sparrows
Red Tail Hawk x1
Ring-necked duck - a few
Mallards
Geese
Mute Swan x 1
Crows - several
Robins
Little snapping turtle - see wildlife section

3 "green pond turtles" in the pond near reception - about 6" dia.
