My husband and I were there for the first time on Friday.    Have not had time to look at his pics.  First bird we saw turning on to Wylie was a Bluebird.  Saw the Loggerhead Shrikes, but were too far away for pictures.  I was hoping for a Grasshopper Sparrow, but did not get it.  We took one look at the trail at Sedge Wren Marsh with all the poison ivy and said NO.  I also spotted lots on the side of the road in the wooded areas.  But it was a great place, must go back!!!!!!!!  Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Good birding

Cynthia

Thanks Cynthia.

I went back again yesterday with mixed results. I added another four new birds to my list (I think) but they were all so far away the photos really aren't very good. One thing I missed on Saturday but saw yesterday was the Eastern Phoebe nest inside the blind. There are several eggs in there and I did get a good shot of her sitting on the nest.

As for poison, it can be very uncomfortable in the heat but I never go anywhere without heavy socks, hiking boots, and long pants. Considering some of the places I have walked I know that combo works for protecting you.

Good birding to you too!

Paul.
