Chimney Swifts - Woodstock Ontario

There are Chimney Swift roosting somewhere in downtown Woodstock, Ontario.  My best guess is the Museum on Dundas St.  It is under construction right now, and there is a fountain in front.  They can be seen and heard flitting about at dusk in this area, starting around 7pm.

Cool, they hang out in Downtown Milton during the summer as well (Evenings @ Main and Martin)

I know it might seem odd but I've seen them a couple of times now on the way home, today included along the 401 in Toronto.

i just wish I could get pictures of them that didn't look like black blurry boomerangs!  The fading light plus their fast eratic movements make it very hard.

We attended a wedding reception last evening in Port Colborne.

Xtreme heat during the day lead to a steaming hot evening.  :cry: was difficult wearing dress clothes.

During a break in the action I headed outside with friends when I spotted a group

of Swifts circling above the reception hall on Bell Street, Port Colborne.

No Aurora last eve. maybe tonight.

I am a bit concerned about these swifts as the museum they *seem* to roost in (still hvn't seen them entering the chimey) is under renovation and maybe drastically altered.  All the nearby buildings seem to have capped chimeys and those stupid plastic owls, wich to me indicates they dont want birds around.  The swifts seem to be new to the city this year, unless I've just never noticed them before.  I hope they stay!
