Pretty sure I spotted a white-winged scoter in the eastern gap Friday across from the island airport - black with distinctive white speculum and orange beak. It was in amongst a bunch of long tailed ducks.
Anyone else seen scoters around the harbour? Or is it likely to have been something else?

good possibility, as that is a good location for them and are seen there quite a bit

I found 3 at Humber Bay West on Sunday:  my highest number this winter.  I have found single birds several times at Sam Smith Park over the last couple of months.  They're around, but not plentiful in Toronto.  Eastern Gap & the spit are probably among the better places to find them in the city.

I saw a solitary female at Len Ford park today - between Marie Curtis and Sam Smith.
She was very close to the point, mixed in with about 50 long-tailed ducks, some red breasted mergansers (males acting silly for the females), scaup, goldeneyes, buffleheads and some of the usuals.
