These fantastic little guys were universally loved by the locals and luckily, fairly common in the areas I visited. Breeding males have the amazing blue while the rest don't. I found about 4-5 females/immature males to every adult male living in a family group. I suspect I caught the tail end of the breeding plumage for the males as they all seemed to lose their colours near mid February.
