I went with a group of nature photographers this morning and had a great time and three new birds for me.

  Canada Geese   
  Mallards
  Wild Turkey
  Barred Owl
* Great Horned Owl
  Downy Woodpecker
* American Kestrel   
  Black-capped Chickadee   
* Red-breasted Nuthatch
  White-breasted Nuthatch   
  Northern Cardinal

I've looked and looked for the Great Horned Owl, where was he seen?

He was sitting on one of the first branches to have foliage right at the trunk and blended in near perfectly. Look for eyes or maybe the ear shape in places that could conceal him.

There is a small hill just behind the sightings box... to the north if that makes it any easier.  Perhaps 10-15m further north (back towards the main entrance) is a trail that branches to the east down towards the marsh. Along that path are several pines. The last four or five times I've seen the owl has been in those pines. If you are walking eastwards they'd be on your left.

I was at Thicksons Woods this morning, around noon and he was well hidden very high up in a tree on the south side of the park right next to some of the houses, I will post a couple of pictures.
