Every time we visit G. Ross Lord Dam, there is always something interesting to see. This afternoon, a juvenile Peregrine Falcon was hunting over the water area. It scared the Canada Geese and Mallards, and sent the Kildeers and Ring-billed Gulls into the air. It tried three different passes, but had no luck. The last we saw of it, the bird was in a tree preening.

In the nearby field, a Sharp-shinned Hawk flew over us as it chased a smaller bird. The little bird managed to escape, too.

Other nice sightings:
- 1 male Hooded Merganser hanging out with a small group of mallards
- 1 Double-crested Cormorant
- 1 Fox Sparrow hanging out with the Dark-eyed Juncos, White-crowns, Song and White-throared sparrows
- 1 GBH

The dam is at Finch and Dufferin. We go in the second entrance off Dufferin, north of Finch. We drive to the parking lot near the riding stables. Then, we take the path down to the water.
