Yesterday (Sunday) my son and I saw 2 free flying and 2 mating pairs of monarchs on the spit. One of the mating females had a tag and I sent the tag number to Don Davis. We also found 3 caterpillars and signs (frass) indicating more were around. Unfortunately we got there after the sun was gone and the only other butterfly we saw was a red admiral.
