There were a lot of dragonflies on the move today.  I saw dozens, probably close to 100, swarming on the lawns of the RL Clark Filtration Plant.  Green Darners were the predominant species of migrant, along with Black Saddlebags, Carolina Saddlebags, 12 Spotted Skimmer, Spot-winged Glider, and some others that I couldn't get a good look at that didn't appear to be any of the above.  There were also a lot of White-faced Meadowhawks (all males) flying, but I don't think they migrate.

This Spot-wineded Glider could have picked a nicer perch, but she posed well:

I could use some help wit this one.  The female looks like a Marsh Bluet to me but the habitat seems wrong (the north-western headland of Sam Smith Park).  There were lots of them around.  I don't recall if these are both the same female:

This (I believe) is the male of the same species:

Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress.  Laugh, eat, be merry.  Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.
