in spite of many people searching the shoreline for several hours today, there was no sign of the Purple Sandpiper which has been seen all week. There was however, a beautiful Amercian Pipit working its way along the rocky headland this afternoon, and a stunning, snoozing male Canvasback amongst a huge raft of Scaup in the main bay. The male Harlequin was off Rotary Point with the Buffleheads.
