I stopped in for a quick visit to Cherry Beach yesterday hoping for Scoter, but there was no open water anywhere to be seen - not even the East Channel. I've never seen it completely frozen like this. The only bird to be seen was one distant Snowy Owl, sitting on the ice closer to the Leslie Spit side of the bay. Of course, you just never know what you'll see at Cherry Beach, like these two idjits, who actually walked all the way over to the Spit and back again on the ice. Fortunately they did not notice my Snowy, who was about 100 yards to their right (out of frame).
