I saw Meghans pictures of the Evening Grosbeak the other day and all  could think is that I wished I had seen one.   Well, wishes come true because today I went out and saw probably 10 of them, I even managed to get a few pictures.

Still looking for a female(Grosbeak) just in case my wife reads this I don't want there to be any misunderstanding.  I am also looking for a Black Backed Woodpecker, so if someone can convince Meghan to post a picture of one it might work out.  Thanks again.

Sometimes you need a little help to get the best shot.

Lucky you; nice pictures. I haven't come across one yet. I am looking for flash of yellow among the trees; mostly I see flash of black with a little patch of red. :?

You usually have to venture north to have a chance to see them. They came south last winter, but I still didn't manage to see one.

Were these taken in Algonquin or were you able to find some closer to GTA?

Awesome job Andy, these are great. I am so glad you got out and were able to see them! It means alot to me that my photos were able to give you a kick in the butt to get out there and look for these beauties. You did the same for me with the Pileated Woodpecker. I haven't looked for one of them in over a year. But your shots are motivating me to get out there.
As far as the Black Backed Woodpecker is concerned..I think you are on your own for that one.    I would love to see one, maybe when the snow melts a bit and I do not have to wade through waist deep snow to find one.
