Just got back from Rondeau Park from Friday & Sat.

Rondeau was good but not like last year...at least not yet. It was very hard birding, we managed to get up to 21 warbler species but it took both days to get to that number. We saw warblers in ratio of 2-3 per hour  (except for yellows which were more like 4-5 per hour), almost all species were seen in groups of 1-2 at a time. You could stand in Maintenance area and see nothing for a hour than all of a sudden 3-4 different ones go by in a small flock,  but usually fast and high, nothing was low like last year at this time.

saw lots of regulars-  red headed woodpeckers, most thrushes, 4-5 scarlet tanagers, just missing Yellow-throated vireo, saw all the others including blue-headed, white-eyed, red-eyed, crested, warbling..
Best non-birding find, was lift up a board and finding 7-8 skinks underneath, most ran but 2-3 stayed for photo opt

Not sure what the wet weather forecast for this week will mean?

Prothonotary shots are courteous of my wife, I spent too much time looking at them with my binoculars and missed getting a good shot, always next time

The back shot of a Tanager on that perch? It doesn't get any better than that Dave
