Here are some of my shots of the Least Bittern at CSSP. I took them on September 11th and 12th and he (or she) was very cooperative.

Nice set! It is interesting to see the splash in the last one is a column of water going straight up. I captured a similar image (but at 1/40 sec, 5000 ISO, so not nearly as sharp) last week and the splash looks the same.  I can't pick it out when I see it, but looks like it must lunge straight down.

Thanks Brian. Unfortunately I took a closer look at the full rez version of my image and it was out of focus; I was so happy that I got "he shot" that I didn't look close enough to realize I actually didn't. I hope I am not breaking any rules by changing images but I replaced it with a similar lunge shot with less splash. I think you are correct about what it is doing about going straight down.
