I saw this huge hawk in flight, and watched it land in the tree, at Leslie Street spit last weekend (March 1).
I would appreciate help identifying it.

Looks like a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk

Thank you! I missed that, because I didn't think red-tails had bands on their tails, but I see from my guidebook that "Eastern first year" has a brown tail with many thin bands. I have lots to learn!
