Peregrine rescue

Got a call this afternoon from a colleague at work, who said he spotted what appeared to be an injured raptor downtown at King and Dufferin. I immediately put him in touch with Toronto wildlife centre rescue, who eventually showed up and recovered what turned out to be an injured Peregrine. It was taken to a rehab. It was able to flap its wings but couldn't fly. Hopefully the outcome will be positive. I'll try to get an update.

Any further info? If no,I think I have an update that may be correct information, particularily if it was Toronto Wildlife that picked up the bird.

You're right, turns out it was a juvenile Red Tail that ate too much for lunch and then couldn't get airborne in the bad weather. No injury other than wounded pride.

That was my info too. Thanks to your friend, for taking the time and interest to see to the welfare of the bird,on a less then nice day. Actions like that make a difference. Toronto Wildlife generally calls CPF(The Canadian Peregrine Foundation) if they rescue an injured or recover a dead Peregrine. I volunteer with CPF,so upon seeing your post, called Mark Nash at CPF and he made inquiries to be sure.

Glad to hear that the little guy with the big appetite is ok!

The pigeons down here can get huge, it's no wonder he gorged himself!
