I have been spotting a bald eagle hanging out, perched on trees overlooking a deer carcass laying in a cornfield (corn off). On one occasion it was feeding on the carcass. On another occasion, it was perched in a tree while a golden eagle fed on the carcass. I've very certain it was a golden and not an immature BE b/c I checked out the legs.

Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the GE -- I don't use a cell -- but I did get pix of the GE on another day (came back with my camera)....unfortunately the files are too big to upload....

Just in case someone is in the area, Concession 12 about 1 km west of Highway 6, south side of road....Ayton, ON.

(Correction: I was able to take a pic of the BE...not the GE as my original post states.)

Today I saw a pair of BE's feeding at the deer carcass....I got some decent pix....but they won't upload.....

We had a pair nesting nearby for a number of years -- unfortunately a storm blew the nest down last spring...a single broken egg was found in the wreckage....the nest was over 5 years old...I have pix of the nest too but.....
