Funny, This thread is about the start of migration so I have to report a Snowy Owl at Downsview this morning 7:20 am.

Later in the day a Group of Red Winged Blackbirds flew over followed by a very large group of birds shaped like geese with much longer wings ,the lighting was terrible.

At home in Milton We have Grackles, and some very vocal Robins.

Napper :)

Nothing to report out here....sigh....not a single snowy this year....I know it's not over...

Speaking of snowies....a woman who coaches my kid says they have a pair of snowy owls nesting on her property...she's not a birder....she's clear on the colour and pretty sure they're owls....another person who is a birder reported that there was a pair of snowies nesting near the luther marsh....that said, he's also told me that the mnr releases cougars (he has personal knowledge of it) and swears that there are wolves around our area (North Wellington, Southgate and West Grey)......other than that, he's completely credible.
