A nice collection of Thickson Woods delights, even that elusive Wood thrush ... amazing.
I have not been there for a long time and my few visits in the past were never very
successful from a photographic perspective. No birds were close enough for 200mm lens
and never enough light available as a deterrent when stabilization is not on-board. The
first shot of the Blue-headed Vireo is particularly fine and seems to have temporarily
supplanted the Yellow warbler/gnat photo that I just can't get out of my head ... not that
I would want to. That shot could be a metaphor for so many things. It should also be on
the cover of a book, or at least some publication. Thanks for posting and keep it up, even
though seeing these photos is both a pleasure and excruciating because I can't get out
anymore, not that my going out could emulate your results. You know what they say ...
use it, or lose it.
