Thanks, for your kind comments. Yes, the climax came definitely when I witnessed the red-tailed hawk perform his full-cycle hunting and eating procedures. I was stupid enough to not read his body language while he's perched on the lamp pole. I was totally taken by surprise when he dive-bombed directly towards me. Well, what was on his mind was a vole twenty feet behind me and he got his kill without any problem. He then took his meal and adopted a rather low perch on a neighboring tree. This was where I got most of the pictures. Only a few minutes after finishing his meal, he even tried to attack a rabbit. But this time his prey easily got away through the thicket. Hope I can capture the true decisive moment instead of standing there paralyzed with amazement.

I have been wondering about what bird it is at the top picture. My guess is Pine Warbler.

Great Crested Flycatcher at an "unusual" angle.

Good quiz photo ... I'd go with a "Traill's" Flycatcher -- likely Willow, but I think you had to be there. Please include vocalizations next time.

GStuart -- Didn't see your post before I jumped in. I think you nailed it -- the tail's maybe telephoto-compressed, but Great-crested's a better fit.

Another reason "photo-guides" disappeared -- too many variables re light, angle, posture. etc.

Good one.
