On Saturday morning I dropped by Beeton Sod Farm (11th Line and 10th Sideroad) in New Tecumseth and was pleasantly surprised to see a large number of Black-bellied and American Golden Plovers together with 8 Hudsonian Godwit and a lone Red-necked Phalarope in the flooded fields. There were quite a few other birders with scopes setup and were able to estimate the numbers to be in hundreds. I only managed to count through my camera lens somewhere around 20-25, still a large number. In the past my only sighting of them were in Presqu'ile Provincial Park and that too in ones or twos.

Here are two photos as they took to the air spooked by something. If you look carefully in the first photo you could also see other shorebirds in the mix besides the two plovers I mentioned. I'll leave it to the readers to identify which is which.

I don't know anybody in the pic, but love them all.  Took my students to visit UWaterloo today, got to see geese, and content with that. Please, please, share pics.
Now going back to my books.

Engaging shot ... focus lock on a flying flock ... so I know they're not decoys ... especially because it looks like tundra. Fun in the tundra.Another Dinu gem. Maybe you should get a VW van and hit the road forever. Just don't leave this forum. Loss of that kind of foundation would be its ruin.
