Quick update. There were two Hummingbirds chasing each other around this afternoon and my camera was in the house. Had a surprise visitor this afternoon, I've seen them up here before usually a few roads  back away from the beach and at my old feeder 14 years ago. I am struggling with the colour of the beak. If is a house Finch it is another first because there are none here that I have ever seen, unlike Milton.

Very interesting! Too small for a grosbeak and about the right size for a finch. I'm also thinking fledgling E. Towhee. They can be quite small and dark, almost Gothic. I don't really know what it is but it may portent calamity. So, watch it!
