Much better light today, although at 7 o'clock in the morning most spots are still in deep shadow. I noticed that the few warblers that I found preferred to feed in the shade and once again, they didn't venture close to the ground, or even slightly above eye-level. I found myself shooting at 45 degree and steeper, mostly at ISO 800 due to the shade. When a warbler did become directly sun-lit I often forgot to reduce the ISO because I was so busy following the bird's movements. The north wind last night, and the much cooler temperatures it brought wasn't reflected in the warbler numbers. There were not that any to be seen between 7:00 and 8:00. The warblers were also aggressively on the move, not feeding for long before moving eastward at a fair clip. First two warblers seen this morning were very dark and gothic-looking juvenile Yellow-rumped warblers and much brighter-looking juvenile Bay-breasted warblers. One Cape May. Afterwards I spotted a single B&W, a couple of Blackburnian and a single Magnolia. Also, Red-eyed vireo and Warbling vireo. The following week should be sunny with northern winds so I hoping to see more warbler activity as August draws to a close.
