Hi Everyone,
Early Saturday morning, took a spin around Lynde Shores. Saw a Northern Shrike in the exact same area as last year's occupant; a small flock of goldfinches; coopers hawk; sharpie; red-tailed hawk; juncos; several white throated sparrows; and the other regulars. Beautiful morning for a walk, with lots of deer around.
In my yard in Scarborough, I have 2 competing male downy woodpeckers, vying for the suet. They (assuming the same birds) did the same thing last year too, with a couple of females joining them. We'll see if the party increases this year.
Driving to Maine tomorrow - hope to see lots of raptors along the way, and tufted titmouses (titmice?) at the feeders at my sister's.
Happy holidays to all!!
