We visited LaSalle Park Marina in Burlington today.  We were amazed by the number of Trumpeter Swans swimming in the marina.  There were also six Coots, Buffleheads, Red-breasted and Common Mergansers, a Greater Scaup, and Black Ducks.  We were lucky enough to see an adult Bald Eagle flying over the area.

Directions: QEW to N. Shore Blvd exit, turn right (west) at North Shore Blvd East, turn left to stay on N. Shore Blvd.  Watch for the LaSalle Park sign.  Continue past the park sign to the stop sign.  Make a left, and go down to the marina parking.  You can walk along the waterfront there.

Cool.   :)

Did any of the Trumpeter Swans have wing tags?

Most of the LaSalle Trumpeters have tags, even most of the juv's when we were there on Christmas day.

LaSalle is a good spot for winter ducks because it stays ice free, and the trumpeters get fed there 3 times a day. Lots of spillage for the others.

We also got a couple of Ring-necked ducks and a couple of Ruddy ducks as well.

Out by the Burlington Life-bridge, we also got some really good looks at a couple of Male Surf Scoters and one juv Golden Eagle did a flyby.

Lots of WW Scoters at both locations.
