It seems as though crossbills are all over these days. I have seen quite a few flocks flying over head in the meadowvale area of mississauga. Keep an eye out where ever you are. I find the calls are the best way to find them.

Perhaps I should just cry?

Haven't seen OR heard any here in Meadowvale.    Meanwhile, I'm surrounded by all sorts of parks and trees!

Totally bummed out!

I have yet to see any down here in Kingston, but should come across some in the next couple of months when out taking pics.

I used Go transit (bus) on the trip home this afternoon

while traveling thru Meadowvale  at 3:45 pm I spotted a few WW Crossbill's in Spruce trees East side of Glen Erin just North of Shelter bay.

When I arrived home (Milton 4:10 pm) there were WW Crossbill's in our next doors Spruce tree.. At 4:25 a Coopers hawk arrived and spoiled the party..

I saw a large flock of about 30? on windwood drive west of glen erin just after 8:00am. There was also a couple in a white spruce in front of my house this morning around 8:00am.

I was over at Sunnybrook hospital this morning (my vampire doctor wanted to see if I still had any blood), and on the walk back to my car (I refuse to pay for parking, so I park a kilometre away) I saw a small flock of crossbills near the corner of Mildenhall and Stratheden.

   Napper ... Shelter Bay is one block North of where I live at Glen Erin & Aquitaine.

At the moment, I'm sick with a flu (or sinus infection or some sort of virus) so haven't been out looking for a couple of days.   :(

(sigh)  Just South of where I live!  Arrgh!  One of these days I will finally see some Crossbills!

Carl-Adam ... it's good to know that yourself and Napper have been seeing some here in Meadowvale.  Gives me hope!   :)
