Really nice series of a variety of species there mate, well done.
I think the saw whet is actually hiding his eyes from the sun, as if a wing were injured it would be hanging instead of being raised.

Where are the owl woods? (I assumed it referred to Amherst Island). Excellent galleries, I still haven't even had a good look at a common redpole!
