Hi all,
Today (Friday) at Rosetta McClain Gardens in Scarborough while out birding with BIGFRANK and others, we watched as flock after flock of Cedar Waxwings flew westward overhead throughout the course of the morning and early afternoon. From time to time the birds would land in the flowering Crab Apple trees for a brief rest and a snack before moving on. The flocks ranged from about 10 birds up to about 70 birds at a time. Overall I would say that we saw upwards of 2000 waxwings during our visit. Also, upwards of 100 Eastern Kingbirds winged their way past the park today heading westward as well.
Happy Birding,
Walter
