Took a short walk through the Baselands yesterday evening and found a single male Eastern bluebird sitting in the scrubby willows west of the Wet Woods. The bird was very docile and allowed a fairly close approach, sitting still for several minutes. There was a massive number of sparrows working the trees and bushes at the south end of the Wet Woods. Most of these were White-throats, but mixed in were Song, Swamp, and Savannah. I found a single Clay-Colored Sparrow busily feeding at the top of shrubs on the western edge of the woods and a Northern Waterthrush in a shrubby area closer to the parking lot.
