After a short visit to Queen's Park this morning I walked west along Harbord Street. I stopped at Bickford Park (N/W corner of Harbord and Grace). This corner of the park slopes down from Grace Street and is well-treed with fairly dense underbrush.
A Nashville and a Black-throated Green Warbler were singing and very active. I then flushed a bird which perched on a branch about 30 feet from me (two feet off the ground) and posed very cooperatively for five minutes or so. It was a Gray-cheeked Thrush, my first of the year.
