The first Chimney Swifts of the season have been sighted on the Gulf Coast retuning from their wintering grounds in South America. As in past years we will be plotting the swifts' movements northward over the next few months. Please let us know when you see the first ones in your area. This year's results will be posted on our web site at: WWW.CHIMNEYSWIFTS.ORG along with past years' efforts.

You can help us get the word our by passing this message along to any groups or organizations who might want to contribute.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Since these are starting to be seen, I thought I'd bump this up...

I'm glad you bumped it up. Tonight I observed at least half a dozen Chimney Swifts from our 18th floor balcony near Yonge and Davenport. They were over the Don Valley to the east of us and, also, over the park and reservoir south of St. Clair and east of Yonge. We've had them right off the balcony in years past.
I reported the sighting to the website provided.

I saw three chimney swifts bombing around the Humanities building (with its three giant concrete smokestacks) at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus last Thursday.
