Not a Robin...spotted towhee?

I was out early this morning at Col.Sam Smith Park (yes my favorite place) and the sun was in my eyes of course (another excuse)
so i saw this bird and I took the photo thinking...ok Irene another robin picture..if it doesn't turn out..purge it.

Welllll its not a robin!

I'm taking a wild guess here that it might be a spotted towhee? either that or a robin with the measles. My book reference is not that great (the sketched colors don't match up quite right)

can anyone confirm this for me please?

Unless I am mistaken-this is a young, first year, robin.

Nice shot nevertheless.

Don't feel bad, born of the year and immature looks are not normally used as the photo or litho mock ups in birding books.
