Hey all
I have had a very busy back yard in the last week or so.I have to refill my feeders almost every day. Couple of days ago I spotted a "White breasted Nuthatch" climbing all over the tree in the middle of my yard. Not a big deal I know but I don't get to see this stuff very often if ever. Once again Daddy Cardinal is in the yard feeding little one. This year, little one is starting to show red colour, including it's breast. Last year must have been a female little one.
I have not seen a Chirpy for maybe two weeks and have not heard or spotted any song sparrows. Still many American gold finches and "House finches" with their little ones.
I try to visit the pond back there at least once a week and I have noticed quiet an increase in Activity "Canada Geese" and many "Mallards".
Killdear are still there as are the Doves in mass quantity. The big white queen of the pond returned or better yet probably never left.
My friend In Mississauga who likes to hang out in the bushes around that tiny little pond/lake sent me a picture yesterday asking what it was
I told him I would get confirmation from the xperts. Although I have never seen one after reviewing my "peterson's" it looks Like a "Pied Billed Grebe".He hangs there quite often and said it was never there before. The bird was quite the swimmer and seemed determined to climb the small dam at the end of the pond but was unable too and kept falling forward onto its head. The legs on this bird seemed to be mounted way to far back for it to be able to walk. Anyway here is the bird.
Thanx in advance
