I think it could be a coopers or a broadwing hawk but I wasn't close enough to tell. Hopefully someone can help me out with this pic.

I am probably wrong as I am very new to this, but I think Red Tail.

no it was just a little smaller than a red tail hawk and the belly has the orange lines like a coopers or a broadwing; with red tails they have a white chest with a brown band across the chest. Thanks for trying though Meghan
The brown spots also threw me off on this one and I was really disappointed I couldn't get closer for a better ID
Hopefully next time eh!

Broad-winged Hawk

Horizontal barring on the chest getting thicker towards the head. Smaller than red-tail. These guys are starting their fall migration and come through Southern Ontario in huge numbers.
