On Eagle Lake road just west of South River (south of North Bay). I have never seen them there before - not even flying overhead.

Ha, funny you mention that manelson. This shot is taken in 2007 on Eagle Lake Rd in South River! They were in a farmers field on the right as I was going towards the local dump (where I found Black Bear). I have a friend who has a cottage up there. Some beautiful shots you have there! I've also done Costa Rica and Panama several times. If in Panama, Pipeline Rd. is a must. Sometimes you can get some good deals staying at the Gamboa which is just a few minutes away and you're right in the midst of jungle there anyways. The bird life there is astounding. If in Costa Rica, Arenal and Tabacon are a must and San Antonio is a very lush area. We stayed at a small place for a couple nights called the Espadilla which bordered the national park there and got to see the Squirrel Monkeys within minutes of being there. If near Jaco then Carara Biological Reserve is a must. A dirt road into the jungle. A short cab ride from the Jaco beach area. Lots of monkeys and amazing bird life.

Wow, thats incredible. I will look more closely next spring and maybe see exactly where they are nesting. Yes, I have stayed at the Gamboa resort as well and spent many many hours on Pipeline Road. Great to hear from you.
