Can anyone offer information on where I may be able to spot wild turkeys in southern Ontario? I have an unexplainable desire to spot them in the wild!  Thanks

I birded Hall's Rd. on Monday (the 13th of Nov) and came across a group of 8 very tame turkeys.  They were eating seed on the path at the first feeder which is visible from the road.  This was around 9am and they slowly made their way down the road.  I'm not sure how often they're seen here but if they rely on the seed they'll obviously be there throughout the winter.

I also spotted a Northern Shrike, Marsh Wren, dark phase Roughie, 3 Cooper's and several Harriers and Red-tails.

Here's one that was particularly curious

Aside from Hall's Rd. I've often seen wild turkeys in farmer's fields in the Horseshoe Valley area (just outside Barrie), however mostly from a distance.

Good luck

I'll 2nd Hall's Road for wild Turkeys. They can be _very_ approachable, and they've been there for almost a year now. I have a few pics of them in my gallery.

The answer is : practically anywhere where there is a mix of agriculture and forest.  Try some early morning drives down concession roads when they are more likely to be out in the fields and not hiding in the woods.  I've seen many many turkeys in numerous locations in the vicinity of Mono Township, Dufferin County.
