Saw my first hummingbird of the season in my backyard, feeding on lilacs, some good views but no pictures.

Saw my first "boy" back to my feeder May 13th. Next day  also  saw him at the feeder and then at the wysteria, perennial geraniums and other flowers in my back yard.  Have some pics but not the greatest for posting.
Last year ... the first male Rubythroated arrived April 30th.  I have many interesting shots which I took throughout the summer -including "hummer wars" .   Never tire of watching them !

Still waiting to see any in our backyard, put the feeder up less than a week ago near our lilac.
Interestingly, I saw that there was some pollen in the feeder holes, so someone has been around, but was thinking maybe a butterfly??
We didn't have a feeder last year, but our nasturtiums attracted a few late in the summer, so hoping they will come back.

Hi,
We got to see our first hummer (female) in the garden yesterday morning...and she came back a few times.
I have a feeder out but she didn't go there.
She visited almost all our blooming perennials in the yard, even the bleeding hearts.  I'm not sure why she didn't try the feeder..any suggestions?
This is the first year we have put out a hummer feeder.
Thanks,
Mar
