Nice work - the Great Blue Heron is well done. Do you do much post-processing in Photoshop?

Cheers,

Bernie

in Bridge, i'll sharpen and adjust a bit.
today, i kicked up the blacks a bit and adjusted the contrast slightly
also sharpened and will tweaked the vibrance a wee bit so my Nikon picks look more Cannon-like (try to make the colours pop a wee bit more).

then, in PS i do another vibrance tweak and a final unsharpen mask.

i will bet that i'll get some wicked GBH pics in the next month. i can get 30 or so feet away from him while he fishes and he doesn't care. honestly, its as if he recognizes me.

Nice shot of the Juvie blending in with the tree.
I might have to join you for some Heron shooting this year, it looked like the perfect place.
Looking forward to more photos from "your" spot.

not sure if its recommended to use in-camera features like that.
i'd rather tweak after shooting to avoid any oversharpening. takes me about 30 seconds to get it to the level that i like. also, if shooting at a high shutter speed AND high ISO, i need to do a quick post-processing tweak to get rid of some of the graininess you get in the background.
